Nihon Buyo (Traditional japanese kabuki Dance)

Nihon Buyo is one of the pillar activities of Japan Performing Arts, Inc. This traditional dance is currently not as commonly seen as how it used to be in Japan. About 400 years ago, the dance started as the Kabutki Theater dance, which used to be only performed by the male actors. However, it became popular among the general public by the choreographers and other Kabuki theater members teaching for people in all ages. Gradually many schools and factions branched out. Currently, it is said that there are around 200 schools.

JPA has been engaged in the instruction efforts of Nihon Buyo as our on-going regular activities. This event is the first show after the last one two years ago.
